UFC 73: STACKED official card

UFC 73 is “Stacked”. Nearly every fighter on this card has a sick highlight reel. I wish this event was tomorrow, that’s how pumped I am to see these guys throw down.

Anderson SilvaMiddleweight Title
Anderson Silva (Champ) vs. Nate Marquardt – Nate is a tough SOB but Spider Silva is a freak. Ask Rich Franklin what its like to be in a Muay Thai clinch and catch Silva’s knees with your kidneys. Marquardt is in for a war.

Lightweight Title
Sean Sherk (Champ) vs. Hermes Franca – Franca’s hands are so wild, if he catches Sherk this thing could be over in a flash. The guy literally throws punches from out of his ass. Sherk should fight a more technical fight and remain champ.

Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans – This is gonna be a great fight. Evans has looked awesome, dominating his last two fights with KO’s. Not that he needs it but he’ll have plenty of extra motivation going into this one as Tito has been running his mouth yet again. Best part is Tito can back it up. Ortiz reminds me of ARod; he’s arrogant as hell yet so f-ing talented. You want to see his amazing skills yet can’t wait for him to get cracked in the mouth.

Heath Herring vs. Antonio “Big Nog” Nogueira – Lock of the night, “Big Nog” all the way. Herring beating Brad Imes at UFC 69 is not that impressive. Now he’s facing one of the best MMA heavyweights in the world in Nogueira. Herring’s got a punchers chance, it would be a HUGE upset win for him. That’s not too likely to happen.

Kenny Florian vs. Alvin Robinson – Chances are Florian puts on a clinic to newcomer Robinson.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Mike Nickels – Bonnar’s looked lost in his last few fights. Bonnar needs a big win here against season 3 TUF fighter Nickels. You know Dana White is just waiting to promote the hell out of this guy, make him the next UFC poster boy.

Fickett vs NakamuraDrew Fickett vs. Chris Lytle – Pulling for Fickett here. Dude showed huge heart in his 3 round loss to Parisyan, and more recently went another 3 rounds to beat Keita Nakamura.

Frank Edgar vs. Mark Bocek – Both unbeaten at 155, UFCtakedown is rooting for Edgar in this bout. We gotta represent for the kid from da Jersey shore!

Jorge Gurgel vs. Diego Saraiva – Two Brazilian lightweights facing off. Gurgel talked mad junk while on TUF, but didn’t back it up. With all the scheming and plotting he was doing, he would have been better off on The Real World.
